Madd (Saba senegalensis) is a plant that grows in African savannas.

Its fruit is called
zaban (bambara or dioula language),
malombo or makalakonki (in the Congo Basin),
madd (in Wolof),
weda (in Moore),
coastal (in Ivory Coast)
and still «mkonkar» (in Mandjak).

Mixed with water and sugar, the pulp gives a delicious juice. The fruit is rich in vitamin C.
The madd is eaten seasoned with sugar, salt or pepper.
